Having a great recipe is the only thing that can really make your first food blog shine. If you’re not sure what you’re doing here, then I invite you to visit some of my previous food blog posts. They’re some of the most popular around. When I was first starting out, I used to spend hours on some of them. Also, having great recipes can help you to become an authority on your subject matter. You can also sell like-minded people more often than not.
Today we’re going to share one of our favorite recipes over at Applebee’s. This recipe was inspired by our honey Bourbon Street Chicken pants that we’ve been loving for a few weeks now. The idea behind the Bourbon Street Chicken came from a casual conversation that we had with a few Applebee’s Executives about an upcoming monthly food competition that the company was sponsoring. Even though we didn’t win, we decided to try out this recipe because we love it so much.
The Applebee’s Bourbon Street chicken and shrimp recipe is a fun and tasty dish. It can be made with fried shrimp, baked chicken, or your favorite chicken and shrimp combination. If you’re looking for a new way to keep your family or friends happy, try chicken and shrimp. You just have to cook some for your next party.

- Olive oil, 1/4 Cup
- Soy sauce, 1/4 Cup
- Brown sugar, 1/2 Cup
- Peeled frozen shrimp (thawed), 1 lb
- White onion (sliced), 1
- Chicken breast, 1 lb.
- Unsalted butter, 2 Tablespoon
- Lemon (quartered) , 1
- Green pepper (sliced) , 1
- Bourbon whiskey, 1/4 Cup and 2 Tablespoon
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Garlic cloves (minced) , 2
Add the Bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, and olive oil to a bowl, and then stir them until they are well combined.
Then, add chicken and shrimp and shake to coat; after that, let the meat marinate for one hour.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then season the meat with salt and pepper. Keep the marinade for later use.
In a pan, cook the shrimp and chicken coated in butter in a single layer until the shrimp become pink and the chicken becomes white.
Instead of grilling the chicken, bake the chicken and shrimp in a preheated oven for 8 minutes at 360 degrees F.
Once the onions and peppers turn tender, sauté them in olive oil until well-cooked. Pour the remaining marinade into a pot and boil it; whisk the soy sauce for five minutes.
Put some soy sauce on the meat with white onion and bell pepper, and serve it with lemon wedges.
