Bev's Spaghetti Sauce Recipe

It’s one of the most versatile sauces around, and it can be used in just about any dish that calls for it.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) 
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ground pepper (to taste)
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms (sliced and sauteed in butter)
  • parmesan cheese, freshly grated (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In olive oil, brown ground beef, onion, garlic, oregano, basil, salt and pepper, Italian Seasoning with bay leaves.
  • Stir in the tomato paste, tomato sauce and diced tomatoes. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Put sauce on top of cooked spaghetti. Add sauteed mushrooms to the top. Enjoy!
