- 2 cups Water
- 1 1/4 cups Milk
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Quick-Cooking Grits not instant
- 1/4 cup Butter
In a small pot, combine water, milk, and salt. Mix and dissolve salt by stirring. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Stir grits slowly into boiling mixture. Make sure the grits are thoroughly mixed by stirring continuously and thoroughly.
Bring the pot back to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring frequently. If necessary, add more water.
When the grits are done, stir in the butter. Add additional butter to each portion if desired. Enjoy!
