Hello fresh tex mex paste is a delicious and healthy paste that adds great flavor and texture to any dish. This paste is made from fresh and Chipotle chilis, oregano, garlic chili paste, fire-roasted tomatoes, and more. It is the perfect addition to any dish and the most useful part of any cook’s arsenal.
4 oz Chipotle chilis (I cooked dehydrated chilis so they were soft before pureeing, then strained them before blending)
5 teaspoon tomato paste
1 1/2 bulb of homemade roasted garlic
21 oz. fire-roasted tomatoes
Instructions
Trim the ends of the garlic bulb. Sprinkle olive oil over the garlic and wrap it in tin foil to bake for 30 to 45 minutes at 400 degrees F.
Pour water into a small pot. Add 4 oz dried chilis to the water. Allow to simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until they are soft.
Slice the onion and place it in a blender or food processor. Add baked garlic, softened chilis (drained), and fire-roasted tomatoes (drained). Process the mixture until smooth.
Place the puree in the pot. Stir in the rest of the wet ingredients.
Combine all the dry ingredients in a pot. Stir the mixture for 15 to 18 minutes until it turns very fragrant. The rest is entirely up to you regarding storage!
