Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons Kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric

Instructions

  • In a bowl, measure two tablespoons of Kosher salt. Stir in two teaspoons of brown sugar. You can also use white sugar.
  • Combine the garlic powder, garlic salt, onion powder, and turmeric. Toss all seasonings into a bowl. Stir in paprika and chili powder.
  • Take a teaspoon of black pepper and add it to the bowl with the other spices. A medium-size, freshly ground pepper is suitable for this mixture. Gently stir the ingredients to combine.
  • Place seasonings in a gallon-sized plastic bag, then seal. Shake the seasonings together in the bag until they appear evenly mixed.
  • Make a diagonal cut at the edge of one of the bottom corners of the plastic bags. Make sure the cut is small enough so the bag can fit easily into the empty spice jar.
