Equipment

  • A spatula or wooden spoon and stainless steel skillet

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tablespoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 lb thawed or fresh ground beef
  • Other spices ( if you like spicy ground beef)

Instructions

  • Start with keeping your beef for fifteen minutes at room temperature.
  • Heat oil over medium flame in a stainless steel skillet.
  • There is no need for any vegetable oil if you have a nonstick pan. If you want to have a Beautiful brown sear, stainless will be your best choice.
  • Once your oil is hot, add the beef and start breaking it with a spatula.
  • Then leave it for 5 minutes to let the meat brown. Don't touch the pan.
  • Sprinkle the salt & any other species you like such as taco seasoning.
  • Continue letting it get brown. Stir it after every minute until all of its moisture evaporates.
  • Make sure there are no large pieces or any pink colouration. It's done. Now it is time to drain fat.

Notes

Precautions

  • Keep ground beef at room temperature before putting it into a hot pan. If you place frozen meat then it will lessen the temperature of the pan and will increase your cooking time.
  • Carefully add the meat to the pan if you are using oil as spills of oil can burn your skin.
