Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup Cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 egg beaten
  • Shortening

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease an 8 or 9-inch pan with shortening.
  • Mix the dry ingredients together. Mix the wet ingredients in a separate bowl.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients and stir just until moistened.
  • Add the batter to the prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
