Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 3/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 4 Ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup Toasted pecans chopped
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Fine salt
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg Freshly grated
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup Buttermilk sour cream or yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract 1 teaspoon

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a 9×5 inch loaf pan by greasing it gently with butter.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, pecans, salt, and nutmeg.
  • Mix eggs, buttermilk, brown sugar, vanilla extract and buttermilk in another bowl. Combine the bananas with the mixture.
  • Add the banana mixture to the flour mixture and mix until combined. It is okay to leave some lumps in the mixture; do not overmix.
  • Fill the loaf pan with the batter. Bake for an hour until golden. Transfer the bread to a cooling rack after it has cooled down in the pan for 10 minutes. Cut into slices and serve.
