Pioneer woman cabbage rolls are delicious, amazing, and, of course, will satisfy any craving. These cabbage rolls will make dinnertime a pleasant experience, whether you're having a sedentary day or a family dinner.
1 24 ozfavourite jarred marinara sauce or homemade marinara sauce
2teaspoonsItalian seasoning (dried)
1 large egg (whisked)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dill
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup brown rice (cooked)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit. Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil and season with salt.
Cut around the core with a pairing knife. Carefully remove six leaves from the cabbage. You don't have to worry if they tear a little bit.
Before removing the leaves, immerse the whole head of cabbage in boiling water for a few minutes. Boil the cabbage leaves three at a time until they are pliable and soft.
Combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, 1/2 cup marinara, Italian seasoning, egg, salt, dill, and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Combine the ingredients by mixing them with a fork or your hands.
In a 9x12 baking dish, spread half of the sauce. Use a paring knife to remove the hard veins from the cabbage.
In the center of each cabbage leaf, spread about half a cup of filling. Roll up like a jelly roll.
Place the pan seam-side down in the oven. Pour the rest of the sauce on top. Then cover it with foil.
Bake for about an hour or until the meat is cooked through and the cabbage is soft.
