- 4 lbs Beef (ground)
- 4 cans Kidney beans and pinto beans (15 oz each can)
- 1 can Tomato paste (6 oz)
- ½ tsp Cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp Ground cumin
- ½ cup Masa harina
- ¼ cup Chili powder
- 2 tsp Kosher salt
- 2 tsp Oregano (ground)
- 6 Garlic cloves (minced)
For Topping
- Sliced jalapeños
- Ripe avocado
- Shredded cheddar
- Sour cream
- Crumbled bacon
Take a large pot.
Add ground beef to it.
Add garlic and cook until the meat is brown.
Remove the excess fat by draining. Do not remove all, it will enhance the flavor of the chili.
In the browned meat, add tomato sauce, oregano, cumin, tomato paste, cayenne, and kosher salt.
Stir thoroughly to mix the ingredients well.
Bring the mixture to simmer at low flame for one hour by covering the lid.
Do not forget to stir from time to time otherwise the ingredients will burn.
Moreover, if the liquid content becomes less, you can add more water till the ingredients cook well. It also prevents the ingredients from burning.
Take the beans, add, and stir them in the chili.
To thicken the consistency, add masa harina and stir. (Mix masa harina in half a cup of water, stir well, and then add to chili)
Bring to a simmer for another 10 minutes.
Then taste the chili and add any ingredients if needed.
Dish out the chili and top it with sour cream, cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, sliced jalapeños, and ripe avocados.
Your Delicious Pioneer Woman Chili is already. Bon Appetit!
