  • Kidney beans and pinto beans = 4 cans (15 oz each can)
  • Tomato paste = 1 can (6 oz)
  • Cayenne pepper = ½ tsp
  • Ground cumin = 2 tsp
  • Masa harina = ½ cup
  • Chili powder = ¼ cup
  • Kosher salt = 2 tsp
  • Oregano = 2 tsp (ground)
  • Garlic cloves = 6 (minced)

For Topping

  • Sliced jalapeños
  • Ripe avocado
  • Shredded cheddar
  • Sour cream
  • Crumbled bacon

Method

  1. Take a large pot.
  2. Add ground beef to it.
  3. Add garlic and cook until the meat is brown.
  4. Remove the excess fat by draining. Do not remove all, it will enhance the flavor of the chili.
  5. In the browned meat, add tomato sauce, oregano, cumin, tomato paste, cayenne, and kosher salt.
  6. Stir thoroughly to mix the ingredients well.
  7. Bring the mixture to simmer at low flame for one hour by covering the lid.
  8. Do not forget to stir from time to time otherwise the ingredients will burn.
  9. Moreover, if the liquid content becomes less, you can add more water till the ingredients cook well. It also prevents the ingredients from burning.
  10. Take the beans, add, and stir them in the chili.
