900 g Damsons (2 lb) 250 g Caster sugar (1.25 cups) 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
Wash damsons with cold water.
Halve damsons, remove stones using a knife or squeeze if ripe.
Simmer damsons in a pan for 10 minutes on low-medium heat.
Add sugar, lemon juice, and stir. Cook for 40 minutes till liquid reduces, stirring.
This should fit in about 2 quart jars
