Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup  Red onions (minced)
  • 1 Cream of mushroom soup (10 oz can)
  • 2 Mushrooms (chopped, & divided) (8 oz packages)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup  Swiss cheese (grated)
  • lb  Ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon  MSG (preferably Accent seasoning or any flavour enhancer of your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • ¼ cup  Red wine
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

For The Serving:

  • 5 Hamburger buns
  • Potato fries (for sides)

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the Mushroom Swiss Burger

  • Heat oil in a skillet & sauté onions until translucent.
  • Add 8 ounces of mushrooms & sauté briefly.
  • Deglaze with red wine & reduce briefly.
  • Season with salt & pepper to taste, then set aside to cool.

Step 2: Create the Mushroom Sauce

  • Combine mushroom soup, 8 ounces of mushrooms, & Worcestershire sauce. Simmer on low heat & set aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Seasoning Mix

  • Mix MSG or flavour enhancer, garlic salt, & ground pepper, then set aside.

Step 4: Form the Burger Patties

  • Mix ground beef with cooled mushrooms until evenly combined. Add 1 tablespoon of seasoning mix to taste.
  • Divide into 6-ounce portions & shape into patties. Wrap in plastic film if desired.

Step 5: Grill the Patties

  • Preheat the griddle & grease it.
  • Grill the patties & season both sides with the seasoning mix.

Step 6: Toast the Buns

  • Toast the hamburger buns on the griddle.

Step 7: Assemble the Burger

  • Place a patty on the bottom bun, add 1 tablespoon of the mushroom mixture, & cover with the top bun. Repeat.
  • Serve the burger with a side of about 1 cup of potato fries per serving.

Notes

  • Toasting adds extra flavour and texture.
  • Add extra veggies or condiments as you like.
  • Wrap leftovers tightly for later enjoyment.
