- ½ pound Pumpkin Fresh (Cubed)
- ½ pound Yellow yam (Cubed)
- 1 pound Boneless chicken
- 1 pack Chicken noodle soup mix
- 1 Medium Onion (Sliced)
- 4 Cloves Garlic (Crushed)
- 1 Chocho (chayote) (Peal and cubed)
- 1 Corn (Cut into pieces)
- 2 Medium Carrots (Peal and diced)
- 1 Scotch bonnet pepper
- 2 Scallions (spring onions) Chopped
- 5 Sprig Thyme
- 5 Pimento berries (Allspice)
- Water
- ½ teaspoon Salt
Dumpling Mix:
- 1 cup Plain flour
- ¼ teaspoon Salt (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Cornmeal (optional)
- Water
For The Dumpling:
Combine flour, salt, and water for a firm dough.
Shape small, flat dumplings.
For The Soup:
Put chicken, pimento, onion, scallion, garlic, thyme, corn, and salt in a pot. Cook for 10 minutes.
Add pumpkin, carrot, chocho, yellow yam, and dumplings. Pour boiling water.
Stir in soup mix, and add whole scotch bonnet pepper. Cover and cook for 30-55 minutes.
Stir gently. Taste and adjust salt. Remove pepper if too spicy.
