Classic Red Wine Sangria

The sangria is such a great drink, it's very easy to fit it to the mood and the weather, you can make it cold in the summer and hot in the winter, you can drink it at any time of the day and you can play with the recipe and the ingredients anyway you like.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Bottle red wine preferably Rioja (Spain)
  • 2 Oz of Brandy Cognac or Rum
  • 1 Glass orange juice preferably freshly squeezed
  • 1 Lime or Lemon cut to cubes
  • 1 Orange cut to cubes
  • 2 Spoons of sugar melted with a bit of hot water
  • Ice
  • Glass of club or lemon lime soda
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 6 Cloves if you like

Instructions
 

  • Cut The fruit and place in a punch bowl
  • Pour the wine and alcohol in the bowl
  • Add the orange juice and melted sugar
  • Stir very well, and chill in the fridge for an hour
  • Add Ice before serving (around 20 cubes)
  • Add soda
  • Stir very well
  • Start pouring your sangria into the glasses using a ladle or just dip a glass into the bowl and pour to a new one.
