Lamberts Throwed Rolls

Lamberts is a popular brand of cookies. “Lamberts” is a name that is very close to the word “lambert”. The lamberts cafe is known for serving hot rolls to its customers. Earl Lambert opened the Sikeston cafe in 1942, along with his wife Agnes, his brother Robert, and Robert’s wife Ruby. Former Sikeston High School coach Norman “Ole Norm” Lambert assumed management duties in 1976.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package Active dry yeast
  • 4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Warm water
  • 1 cup Warm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions
 

  • Add the yeast and sugar to the warm water. Allow the yeast to foam for about 10 minutes.
  • Add the milk, butter, sugar, egg, and salt to a large bowl and stir well. Pour in the yeast mixture as well. Then add the flour and combine until you have a soft dough.
  • Knead the dough on a floured board. Rest the dough in a bowl covered with plastic wrap. Let it rise for 30 minutes. Grease 12 muffin cups with butter.
  • Put the dough into each cup tightly. Let the cups rise for another 15-20 minutes. While the muffin dough is rising, preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Bake the muffins for 25 minutes more or less. Check the muffins with a fork or poker to see if they are done. Remove the muffins when the tops are slightly browned. Place them on a cooling rack to cool. Top with desired toppings.
