Cajun Fried Shrimp

Cajun Fried Shrimp

I love cajun fried shrimp. I love them in just about every way, shape, and form! However, I’m pretty picky when it comes to meat. I’m happy with pork, chicken, turkey, fish, and anything else. However, I often run into shrimp at the store. It’s not everywhere yet, but I’ve seen shrimp on sale at Costco. So, after many years of experimenting on my own, I finally figured out the perfect cajun fried shrimp recipe!

  • 1 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp McCormick Lemon
  • 1 tsp Pepper Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander ground
  • tsp Salt
  • tsp Black Pepper

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the sifted flour, old bay seasoning, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, lemon & pepper seasoning, coriander, black pepper and salt.
  • Dip the shrimp into the flour mixture and coat each shrimp evenly with the mixture. Let them rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • In a bowl, whisk egg and milk together. Dip the shrimp in an egg wash to completely coat them and then into a flour mixture to completely coat them and then onto a clean plate.
  • In a deep fryer, heat the oil to 375 degrees F. Fill the pan with enough oil so that the shrimp is completely covered. Fry shrimp in batches for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Take the shrimp out of the oil and lay them on a paper towel to drain. Serve with your favourite Red Beans & Rice or Remoulade Sauce in a basket.
