1 pkg round steak (cut into quarters and beat with meat tenderizer)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup self rising flour
1 largeegg
1/4 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoon coarse salt
2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 cup sweet onion
3 cup water
Instructions
Combine flour, salt, pepper, and onion powder in a bowl. Combine egg and buttermilk in another bowl.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil begins to ripple, take a steak and dredge it in buttermilk then flour, then add it to the skillet. Repeat with the rest of the meat.
Cook for 6-8 minutes or until meat turns brown on medium heat. When meat is brown, flip it over and cook for another 6-8 minutes.
Saute onion in skillet for 1 minute on high heat. Stir flour until it reaches a medium brown color, then add water and stir until gravy thickens.
Remove from heat, and pour into a bowl. Over steaks, serve.
