Combine 4 oz cream cheese and 1/2 cups butter until smooth and creamy. Stir in 2 cups powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Beat in another 1/2 cup of sugar until you reach a spreadable consistency.
On top of the cake, spread the cream cheese frosting and chill it for three hours. Serve and enjoy!
