Porto’s bakery is one of the popular places to snack in Los Angeles due to its yummy creamy cheese rolls. Since my last visit to Los Angeles, I often got cravings for those sweet rolls. One day I decided to bake those rolls at home. Obviously, my first trial was not like Porto’s rolls but they were delicious too. After trying many times, I am successful in baking exactly the same cheese rolls.
1egg washa mixture of beaten egg and water for brushing
Instructions
Turn ON your oven to preheat it for almost 30 minutes at about 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Take a large bowl and pour 9 oz cream cheese, 1 egg yolk, and 5 tablespoon sugar. Mix the ingredients thoroughly with a balloon whisker to make a smooth creamy batter.
Lay the puff pastry having room temperature on your kitchen counter. Cut the slice of puff pastry in a triangular shape.
For filling these puff pastry triangles, add 1 tablespoon of creamy batter filling on one end of the puff pastry. After placing the filling, you should roll the puff pastry in a way to form crescent shape rolls.
Place all the filled rolls in a baking tray. To get the mouthwatering and luscious look of rolls, we suggest you brush all the rolls with egg wash. For making egg wash, you need to whisk one egg and one tablespoon of water.
After brushing, your rolls are ready to be baked in your preheated oven. Bake them in the oven for almost 10-15 minutes until they turn golden brown.
When your creamy rolls are baked, get them out of the oven. Brush all the rolls with melted butter to improve nutritive value and flavoring of rolls.
Sprinkle powdered sugar over the rolls and serve these to your kids and family.
