Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb Ground turkey mince 92% lean
  • 8 oz Mushrooms finely chopped
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs
  • 1 Medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 Garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 3/4 tsp Sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 7 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1/3 cup Milk
  • 2 Eggs lightly beaten

Instructions

  • Set the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Using aluminum foil, lightly oil a rimmed baking sheet.
  • In a large skillet, heat the oil over low heat. Add the onion and cook until soft, stirring occasionally. Cook the garlic for about 1 minute or until fragrant.
  • Add the mushrooms, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. For about 10 minutes, you need to cook the mushrooms until they give off their liquid.
  • Stir the Worcestershire sauce and three tablespoons of ketchup into the onions and mushrooms in a large bowl. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk. Combine the breadcrumbs mixture and eggs with the mushrooms and onions. Add ground turkey, a quarter-teaspoon of salt, and a quarter-teaspoon of pepper and mix with a fork or your hands.
  • Prepare a baking sheet by cutting a 9-inch by 5-inch oval out of the meatloaf. Add the remaining four tablespoons of ketchup to the top.
  • Bake The meatloaf. Meatloaf is done when an instant-read thermometer placed in the thickest part of the meatloaf registers 170 degrees F, about 50 minutes. Allow the meat to stand for 5 minutes before slicing.
