Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb Fresh Strawberries
  • 2 cups Sugar 2 cups
  • 4 Large pasteurized eggs
  • 4 cups Heavy cream whipped
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 3 tbsp Watkins Vanilla
  • Salt and ice

Instructions

  • Make sure fresh strawberries are clean and chopped two hours before making ice cream. Combine 1/2 cup of sugar and strawberries and refrigerate for two hours. Puree the strawberry mixture after two hours in a blender. Place aside.
  • Combine pasteurized eggs and remaining sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add Watkins Vanilla, heavy cream, and milk. Combine well. Whip again with strawberry mixture.
  • Put the mixture into the 4-quart canister of the nostalgia ice cream maker. About 2/3 – 3/4 should be filled. If you overfill, the ice cream will not expand! Then layer the ice and salt along the rim of the ice cream maker. Fill to the top of the barrel and start.
  • When the ice melts, add more ice and rock salt. Once the ice cream rises to the top of the container and the nostalgia ice cream maker slows down, it will be done. One to two hours may be required for this process. In case the ice cream is too soft, continue to churn. Put the ice cream in a lidded container when finished. Place in the freezer.
