Long John Silvers Coleslaw

Today I am going to share with you a Long John Silvers coleslaw recipe which is extremely delicious. I know coleslaw is a summertime side dish, but I can’t help myself. With the recent cold snap we’ve been having, I was craving some comfort food. This recipe for Long John Silver’s Coleslaw is perfect to make when you’re feeling chilly inside or out!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 head Cabbage finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp white onion finely minced
  • 1/4 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup Whole milk
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Carrot finely shredded

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the vegetables by chopping them into fine pieces, about the size of a rice kernel. A greater can be used for the carrot. A sharp knife can also be used for the cabbage. Finely cut vegetables infuse the best flavour. Alternatively, you can make them thicker if you wish.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, cider vinegar, freshly ground black pepper, Kosher salt, whole milk, buttermilk, mayo, and lemon juice. Combine all ingredients with a whisk, and beat until smooth.
  • Add the finely chopped cabbage, carrots, and white onion. Mix well to finely coat with the recipe for John’s slaw dressing.
  • Before serving, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours.
