Applebee’s Beer Cheese Dip Recipe
Beer cheese dip is one of my favourite appetizers at Applebee’s. I always order it with the onion rings because they are so delicious together! This copycat recipe tastes just like the original and you could fool anyone into thinking that you bought it from Applebee’s yourself!

3 tbsp Butter 3 tbsp Flour 1 bottle Blue Moon Beer 1/2 cup Milk 2 Garlic cloves minced 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard 1/4 tsp Worcestershire Sauce 1 1/2 cups Colby Jack Cheese shredded 1 1/2 cups Sharp White Cheddar Cheese shredded 1 tsp Hot Sauce Salt to taste Freshly ground Black Pepper to taste Cayenne Pepper Powder to garnish
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Then add the flour. Stir until smooth, then cook for about one minute.
Whip the mixture and slowly add in the beer and milk. Mix in the Worcestershire sauce, mustard and garlic.
Stir constantly for at least five minutes, until it thickens. Stir with a wooden spoon to see how thick it is.
Removing the pan from the heat, stir in both cheeses and the hot sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
Put in a bowl, sprinkle with cayenne or paprika, and serve immediately while hot.
You can serve this with warm pretzels, toast points, crostini, or crudités as a dip.
