Ingredients
- Small bacon slices, 8 pieces
- Chicken broth, 2 cups
- Turnip or collard greens (Diced, 32 oz
- Apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- Sugar
- Extra virgin olive oil, 8 tablespoons
- Onion (diced), 1 cup
- Salt (to taste)
- Red pepper flakes
- Small diced turkey necks (optional)
- Country ham slices (optional)
Instructions
Step 1
Add 8 tbsp extra virgin olive oil and roughly chopped bacon to an instant pot. Also, add turkey neck and ham to the instant pot. Press the sauté button to begin cooking.
Step 2
Cook 1 cup chopped onion with the meat. Stir them until they are translucent and tender, along with the bacon.
Step 3
Stir in chicken broth, turnip greens, and apple cider vinegar and the remaining ingredients. Turn off the instant pot. Turn it back on and press the Manual button.
Step 4
Switch off IP, then turn it back on. Press MANUAL and set the pressure to HIGH for 30 minutes. Verify the valves are set to “seal.”
Step 5
You will hear a beep and a slow-release after the greens come to pressure. It’s best if you leave them alone until you’re ready to eat them.
Step 6
Once you are ready to eat, remove the instant pot and cut up some turkey neck meat into small pieces. Pour pepper sauce over cracker barrel turnip leaves.
