  • Rolled oats, 3 cups
  • Slivered almonds, 1 cup
  • Cashews, 1 cup 
  • Sweet coconut (shredded), 3/4 cup
  • Dark brown sugar, 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons
  • Maple syrup, 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons 
  • Vegetable oil, 1/4 cup
  • Salt, 3/4 teaspoon
  • Raisins, 1 cup 

Step By Step Instructions To Make Alton Brown Granola

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. 

Step 2

Combine the oats, almonds, coconut, cashews, brown sugar, and salt in a large bowl.

Step 3

In a plunger cup, measure the oil and syrup. Stir the oil and syrup into the dry ingredients.

Step 4

Transfer the mixture to a half sheet pan and bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes on the middle rack, stirring every 15 minutes until the colour is even.

Step 5

Take out of the oven and transfer to a large and let it cool for 30 minutes. 

Step 6

Stir in the raisins until they are evenly distributed. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
