How To Make Logan’s Roadhouse Rolls
The best rolls in the world are made by Logan’s Roadhouse. Every time I eat there, I order their sweet potato fries and a side of these amazing rolls. The dough is so light and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside that it makes you feel like you’re holding a cloud in your hand. It’s no surprise that these rolls have been voted as one of America’s favourite restaurant dishes!
For The Rolls
- All-purpose flour, 3 cups
- Of active dry yeast, 2 packages
- Salt, 1 teaspoon
- Sugar, 2 tablespoons
- Nonfat dry milk, 1/4 cup
- Warm water, 1 1/4 cup
- 1 large egg (slightly beaten)
- Butter (melted), 8 tablespoons
- Butter-flavoured vegetable shortening, 2 tablespoons
- Butter, 8 tablespoons
- Granulated sugar, 2 oz
- Brown sugar, 2 oz
- Cinnamon, 4 teaspoons
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour. Stir in yeast, salt, sugar, and dry milk. Place aside.
Combine water and egg in a mixing bowl and stir to combine. Create a well in the middle of the dry ingredients. Pour the water mixture into the well. Beat 150 strokes by hand, scraping the bowl a lot and continuously beating.
Add half of the melted butter and beat until incorporated. Beat in the remaining flour, about 1/3 cup at a time. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Put the dough in a warm and draft-free place, such as an oven with a pan of hot tap water below. Wait until the batter has doubled in bulk, about an hour.
Prepare a 12-cup muffin pan by coating it with butter-flavoured vegetable shortening. Pour the batter into the pan. Place one spoonful or handful into each muffin-pan cup to make 12 rolls. Butter the dough with half of the remaining butter.
Allow to rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 30 minutes, uncovered. Bake rolls on the middle rack of a preheated 400 degree F oven for 16-18 minutes. Spread remaining melted butter on top of the cooked rolls. Enjoy immediately.
To make cinnamon butter, mix all of the ingredients together until smooth. Keep refrigerated.
