- Distilled white wine or white vinegar, 3/4 cup
- Dry sherry, 1 tablespoon
- Water, 3 tablespoons
- Yellow mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon
- Whole black peppercorns, 1/4 teaspoon
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- Onion (minced), 1 teaspoon
- Fresh ginger, 1/4 teaspoon
- Anchovy (minced), 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt, 1 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes, 1 pinch
