How To Make Alfajores De Maicena

Ingredients
- Flour, 1 ¾ cups
- Cornstarch, 2 cups
- Egg yolk, 5
- Vanilla extract, 1 tsp
- Baking powder, 2 tsp
- Sticks of butter, 2
- Powdered sugar, 1 ¼ cups
- Dulce de leche, 1 ¼ cup
- Coconut, ¼ cup

Step 1
In a bowl, place the flour, cornstarch, and baking powder. Mix the ingredients together and set them aside.
Step 2
In another mixing bowl, beat the butter and powdered sugar until fluffy. To make the process go faster, use an electric mixer.
Step 3
Add the five egg yolks one by one, along with the vanilla essence. The next step is to combine the previous flour mixture with the new one and mix until a smooth dough forms.
Step 4
We will wrap the bowl with foil and place it in the refrigerator for one hour after finishing the beating and shaping of the dough. Set aside 2 baking trays and line them with baking sheets for later use.
Step 5
On a floured surface, roll out the dough. Use a 2-2.5 inch round or fluted cutter to outline the cookies. Make more cookies by rolling out leftover dough.
Step 6
Set the baking sheets aside and put the cookies back in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C or 350°F.
