  1. Sauté the Aromatics:
    • Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
    • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
  2. Brown the Ground Beef:
    • Push the onion and garlic to the side of the pan and add the ground beef.
    • Cook the beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  3. Add the Tomatoes and Seasonings:
    • Pour in the crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce.
    • Stir in the dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
    • Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.
  4. Simmer and Infuse Flavor:
    • Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    • The longer it simmers, the richer the flavors will be.
  5. Taste and Adjust:
    • Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed. Add more salt, pepper, or herbs if desired.
  6. Serve Over Cooked Spaghetti:
    • Cook the spaghetti noodles according to the package instructions.
    • Drain the noodles and toss them with a little olive oil to prevent sticking.
    • Serve the sauce over the cooked spaghetti.
    • Sprinkle generously with grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Garlic Bread on the Side:
    • Don’t forget the garlic bread! Toast slices of baguette or Italian bread.
    • Rub each slice with a clove of garlic and drizzle with olive oil.
