Ingredients
- Filet mignon steaks, 48 ounces
- Butter (softened), 6 tablespoon
- Salt, 2 tablespoon
- Pepper, 1 tablespoon
- Fresh parsley (chopped), 2 teaspoon
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the broiler by preheating it. Dry the filets with a cloth or paper towel, then rub 1/2 tablespoon of butter over the top and bottom of each steak. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Check your boiler and make sure it is good and hot. Give it at least 30 minutes to heat up.
Step 3
When you start to preheat the broiler, and throughout the cooking process, place four oven-safe ceramic serving plates on the bottom rack of the oven.
Step 4
Put another rack on top so the filets will be about 5-6 inches from the heat when you place them there. Make sure the filets don’t burn by checking them periodically.
Step 5
Cook the steak 4-11 minutes per side for a rare to well-done result.
Step 6
Once the meat has finished cooking, carefully remove the ceramic plates from the oven. Spread a teaspoon of butter on each of them. Make sure it sizzles.
Step 7
Place the steak in the centre of the plate once the butter has melted. Top the meat with a pinch of parsley, and sprinkle another pinch around it on the butter. Serve immediately.
