How To Make Southern Comfort Vanilla Spice Eggnog
The spice flavour of this eggnog is comforting and warm, and it is creamy and delicious. It is extremely simple to make and is much better than anything else you can buy in a store. Before we proceed, you need to know that eggs are used. This recipe can be baked if you use raw eggs. Alternatively, you may use egg whites that have been sterilized. For the non-cooked version, you must use fresh eggs. So let’s get started!
Ingredients
- 4 eggs (separated)
- Southern Comfort (or spiced bourbon, or spiced rum), 3 oz
- Whole milk, 2 cups
- Whole cream, 1 cup
- Brown sugar or white sugar 1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon
- Vanilla bean seeds
- Nutmeg (grated), 1 teaspoon
- The ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon
Instructions
Step 1
Separate the yolks from the eggs and place them in a large bowl. Reserve the whites for later use.
Step 2
Beat the eggs until they are lighter in colour. Slowly stir in 1/3 cup sugar. Beat until the sugar is dissolved.
Step 3
Slowly Pour in the milk, cream, Southern Comfort, vanilla bean seeds, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
Step 4
After all the ingredients have been combined, beat for a further minute. Make sure you rinse the beaters so that they can be used again to beat the egg whites.
Step 5
Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form in a separate bowl. Add the sugar gradually while beating.
Step 6
Stir the peaky egg whites gradually into your eggnog mixture. Put it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
Step 7
Before serving, stir together all the ingredients. Because the ingredients will separate while chilling.
