- You can add more types of vegetables such as broccoli and bell pepper according to your liking.
Tips from Chef
- Do not use freshly boiled rice. Must let them dehydrate overnight.
- Even if you like soy sauce, do not add too much of it. It will affect the taste of rice.
- Try to cut the vegetables in the same size so that it is easy to cook them. It also makes the appearance of the dish more eye-catching.
- Cook on a high flame.
How to Store?
If you have leftover fried rice, you can safely store them and use them later. For this purpose, just put the rice in an airtight container. You can also use a normal dish or storage container and cover it with a plastic sheet or aluminum foil so that no air can cross. Halting the crossing of air is necessary because it prevents bacterial and fungal contamination in the rice and keeps them safe for a longer time.
Then place the container in a refrigerator or freezer depending upon how long you want to store the rice. Generally, the Benihana fried rice stays good in the fridge for three to five days. While you can store it in the freezer for up to three months.
How to Thaw and Reheat the Stored Benihana Fried Rice?
Thaw the rice by keeping them in the refrigerator. When you feel like the ice has melted, you can heat it further. For heating, there are two options:
- Take a pan and add a small amount of olive oil, safflower oil, or any other oil in it. You can also use only water. Add the rice and cook on medium flame on the stove. Keep stirring from time to time and serve when it’s cooked and hot.
- If you have a microwave, you can also reheat the rice in the microwave. First cook the rice for a good three minutes on high power. Take out the rice and stir it well. Then keep heating in 30 seconds increments and stop heating when you feel like it is hot enough.
