  • ¾ cup peanut oil (roasted)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (minced)
  • 1 star anise pod
  • ½ small cinnamon stick
  • 1 small shallot (minced)

  • ½ cup hot Chinese chiles (dried)
  • ¼ cup toasted sesame oil

Step 1

Heat the peanut oil to 175 degrees Fahrenheit in a skillet.

Step 2

Stir in all the spices and cook over low heat until the oil reaches a temperature of 225 F. Simmer at 225 F for five minutes.

Step 3

Pour the mixture into a heatproof jar and wait for it to cool. Add sesame oil to the mixture. Enjoy!
